'Nothing Is What It Seems', Tromarama, stop-motion animation with flower and paper, sound by Bagus Pandega, 2012
Yen-Ying Huang (Robbie Huang) is Taiwanese artist who combines new media, drawing, photography, sculpture, and video works. He has exhibited his works in various countries in Asia and in the United States, and in 2009 following a residency at The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), New York. Robbie studied mixed media at National Taiwan University of Arts and Plastic Arts for his master at Tainan National University of Art.
Marc Philip van Kempen is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam and Berlin. His work brings elements of photography, sculpture and new media together in unconventional ways, challenging the viewers perspective. Much of his work consists out of media images that have been made into three-dimensional installations that result in a kind of ‘spatial collage’. During and after the building, these structures are documented with (analogue) photography. The resulting photographs become part of the work, or replace the work altogether. Marc has studied visual arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Akademie (Amsterdam) and media studies at the University of Amsterdam.
Tromarama is a group of artists formed in 2006 in Bandung that consists of Febie Babyrose, Herbert Hans and Ruddy Hatumena. Tromarama initially worked with music bands for the video clip production, then started doing personal work in 2008. By using various media and materials, they worked on various issues of everyday life around them. Many of his works are video and installation, and have been exhibited domestically and abroad.
